Our Journey
How it all started?
In 2020, when Prerna visited Tikri Kalan after years of working in education across different cities, something stirred in her that wouldn't let go.
Walking through the community of migrant families and factory workers nestled close to her hometown, she met a lot of children. She sat with them, listened to them and asked simple questions.
The patterns that emerged were impossible to ignore: children who had spent 14 years in school could barely read a paragraph meant for a grade 5 student. Many of them had already begun working in factories, their potential narrowed before they'd even discovered it.
That realization became a question: What if this could be different?
What started as concern became commitment. She began to imagine a space where learning actually happened. Where children didn't just spend time in school, but genuinely grew in confidence, in literacy, in their belief in themselves. A place rooted in understanding this community - its values, its hopes, its reality.
In 2022, Anant Valley Public (AVP) School was born from that conviction.
Today, AVP serves 210 first-generation learners up to Grade 7, with 80% reading at grade level. We're now building Anant Academy for Grades 9-12 and Anant Learning Centres for community support, creating a full pathway from early years to careers.
